As 2025 draws to a close, we’re feeling so grateful and excited to look back at all the wonderful moments that made this year truly special. Despite a few bumps along the road, there was much joy, laughter and adventure.
Here are some of our favourite memories from 2025:
January: Kicking off the year in beautiful The Hague
After a cosy New Year’s celebration, we lingered in The Hague, soaking up the charm of this lovely Dutch city. We wandered through fantastic museums , strolled along picturesque canals, and marvelled at an incredible sand-sculpture exhibition on the beach.

Of course, we treated ourselves to delicious local specialties while enjoying stunning views, and even popped by the International Court of Justice!

Eventually we headed back to Berlin, where we joined spirited street protests to stand up for democracy and saw many people coming together.

January also brought the release of the new Nosferatu film—perfectly spooky entertainment, rounded off with cosy movie nights and theatre plays at home.
February: Embracing the Berlin winter wonderland
The pond in our favourite park was still magically frozen, turning every walk into a fairytale scene.

Our belated Christmas gift finally arrived: Blood on the Clocktower! This brilliant social-deduction game became a year-long hitn. We hosted many fun evenings with friends.

We also enjoyed lively concerts at the UFA-Fabrik right across the street and delicious dinners at Tempelhof Harbour.
March: Quiet, restorative moments
Nicolas prepared for his exciting new job with long, peaceful walks in nature, while we both loved exploring the fun Asterix exhibition in Berlin - nostalgia and smiles!

April: New beginnings and family time
Nicolas visited family in Lünen, where the dogs basked happily in the spring sunshine before charming everyone at the new office. We hosted our very first Blood on the Clocktower session at the Gehoeft, attended beautiful piano concerts, and celebrated with dinner at Horvath—our first 2-star experience!

May: Sunshine and Berlin vibes
With the sun finally out, we embraced outdoor life. In true Berlin fashion, we showed up to an art exhibition only to discover it was invite-only, but we quickly cheered ourselves up with incredible Georgian food.

We also caught a performance of Nabucco at the opera and returned to Wax On for drinks—the bartender remembered us from months ago, which was a really cool surpise!
June: Summer in full swing
We spent lazy days in the garden and revelled in the warm city buzz.

A random late-night street chess game inspired Nicolas to pick up the board again, and we experienced quirky performance art at the Floating University—still trying to figure that one out, but it surely was special!

July: Harvests and rooftop magic
Nicolas’ new job threw a fantastic summer party, we celebrated our first big garden harvest consisting of a load of sweet app4els, and we spent late nights gazing over the city from one of Berlin’s rooftop bars.

August: On the road and in the garden
Weekends were spent blissfully in the garden, we said a bittersweet goodbye to our favourite Berlin restaurant (though we tracked down the chef in Prague later!), and enjoyed a lovely family visit in Hannover.

September: Lunar magic
We were treated to a spectacular lunar eclipse, and had a busy month closing down the Tempelgehoeft, making space in our calendars for more projects, having a nice good bye bbq with amazing people to wave it of and carry around a lot of furniture as well as finding space in the garden and our home for it.
October: Settling in with new treasures
We set up the new desk for Nicolas in the flat and upgraded the gareden garden with lots of beautiful furniture from the Gehoeft—making everything feel cosier.
Also, Qenzo has not been in this review often enough.

We also had a nice evening at the Berlin classic, Claerchen's Ballhaus with traditional Berlin food and the historic backdrop.

November: Prague adventure
Our first big holiday of the year: 10 glorious days in enchanting Prague! We explored Prague Castle, wandered along the Danube in the golden evening light,

marvelled at the Astronomical Clock and the Old Town buildings,

...and indulged in hotel wellness and food. Nicolas started each day with a full English breakfast, obviously the true highlight of the holidays.

The dogs came along and saw (and sniffed!) so much of the city with us, and managed to be most excellend during the bus travel there and back.

December: Rest and reflection
Winding down after a full, wonderful year—time for rest, hot drinks, and happy memories, Nicolas has travelled to Luenen again, and Becca is very busy writing.
Here’s to an even brighter 2026 filled with more adventures, laughter, and love!
